Irish Daily Deals Market grows 15% in 2012

Irish daily deal buyers spent around 53 million Euro in 2012 on daily deal sites leading to a growth of 15% for the year. The most popular deals were cut-price hair removal, hotel stays, computers, suits and skydives.

The daily deal industry was one of the few retail sectors to show growth last year with Irish customers grabbing almost 4,500 deals a day. Tuesday tends to be the most popular day to buy, according to figures from the daily deal aggregator mydealpage.ie.

With currently around 40 daily deal sites in Ireland, they allow customers to buy products and services at a cut-price rate for a limited time.
